Alec Reed Academy open EABL campaign with a win
Alec Reed Academy opened their EABL campaign with an important game on the road at Oaklands on Wednesday night.
Alec Reed Academy players started the game with more energy led by fierce guards E. Poorman and M. Adam to force an up-tempo game which brought problems for the host team and resulted in ARA taking the first period by 5 points.
Alec Reed Academy gradually built their advantage which reached 15 points half way through the 3rd period. Unfortunately, young Londoners were not able to built on the advantage and a series of unforced errors allowed Oaklands to unleash their sharp shooters who reduced the margin to 3 points in the last minute of the game.
Steady leadership allowed ARA to hold their nerves to finish the game on the right side of a 94-91 result.
Coach Szatkowski stated;
“It’s really good to start the new season with a win, however this game showed us how much work we have yet to do. I’m happy with the offensive performance but our main focus before next week game against JMA will be solely defence”
