Our associated charity was set up in 2005 initially as West London Basketball Project, but changed to Hope Thru Hoops in 2009 to reflect the increasing geographical area covered by the work of the charity to now include; London, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, and Surrey.

The objectives of the charity Hope Thru Hoops are:

1          To advance the education of children and young persons by providing sporting facilities, coaching facilities and opportunities for playing basketball and other sport.

2          To provide and assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, sex, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life and of reducing social exclusion.

3          To provide training opportunities to support young people achieve a number of sport and leisure related qualifications.

Previous work has included ‘Dunk the Junk’ project, in partnership with Ealing Children’s Fund, which was a programme of supervised physical activity coupled with healthy lifestyle teaching, which was targeted at young people who had been socially excluded, in care or who were on the At Risk Register.

In addition, a successful initiative was set up with Feltham Young Offender Institution in Feltham in West London and to work in partnership with both the Young Offender Institution itself and the Youth Offending Team in the London Borough of Hounslow.

In Summer 2016, prompted by our move to Ealing, and the clubs shift in focus solely on Junior and community provision, the Charity now takes a renewed lease of energy to help provide sporting opportunities and provision for youth throughout the borough.
