Return to winning ways
London United bounced back from a road defeat to Bristol by beating Gloucester Saxons 67-82.Our young Londoners took the lead from the very beginning of the game and built a double digit lead by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter United was unable to increase their advantage and spent the entire 10 minutes trading the baskets with the opposition. The game was finally finished as a competitive contest after the half time when United’s lead reached 20 points.
Coach Szatkowski was quite relived when he delivered his comment “It was extremely important for us to win this game. Recently we have developed a very worrying habit of losing the games through our own negligence. We have built seemingly safe margins in recent games against Bristol [U-18] and Derby [U-19] and we recklessly lost both of them. We need to work much harder on managing the last minutes of the close games”
