Future Stars
Future Stars is a registered charity set up in 2005 initially as West London Basketball Project, but changed to Hope Thru Hoops in 2009 to reflect the increasing geographical area covered by the work of the charity to now include; London, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, and Surrey.
Integral to all Future Stars activity is to provide opportunities, experiences and exposure for young people through education and sport to allow aspiring individuals to reach their full potential.
To advance the education of young people by providing sporting facilities, coaching facilities and opportunities for playing sport from grassroots to elite.
To provide training opportunities to support young people achieve a number of sport and leisure related qualifications.
To provide and assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, sex, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life and of reducing social exclusion.
Future Stars charity raises funds to enable London United Basketball Club to carry out its community and grass roots development work in addition to providing opportunities for our elite athletes.
The funds raised by Future Stars allows London United Basketball Club to provide specialist coaching provision for a number of programmes to reach a wide variety of young people. We also have extensive links with a variety of sports organisations, educational institutions and government bodies allowing us to provide highly flexible tailored programmes to meet a wide range of specific needs.
