Coach Stiller to lead London United Academy

London United is very excited to announce Sam Stiller as the new Head Coach of the Academy and Division 3 team. Sam Stiller has started his illustrious playing career at the legendary Cadbury’s Boost Kingston where he was one of the main heroes of the historic campaign 1990/91 where Kingston qualified to Final 8 in the old European Cup (which became Euroleague in later years). After his playing days, Sam has forged a very successful coaching career concentrating on working with young talent. The biggest volume of work was done in East London where Coach Stiller was instrumental in creating a wildly successful programme at Hackney Community College. It will be the second stint of Coach Stiller with London United, In season 2006/07 Sam Stiller served as an assistant coach for our senior team competing in the BBL.

Coach Stiller was very upfront when he offered this comment: ‘Everybody wants to get to the next level but they don’t realise what’s involved. That separates average from great. Players first have to embrace the mindset. I really hope that I will be able to achieve it at London United. I look forward to working with all at London United and to impart my professionalism and experience with such an established club.’

Emma Chambers, Managing  Director at the Future Stars had no doubts about Coach Stiller taking the rein at London United ‘Our quite long search for a Head Coach could not end up with a more suitable person. Sam eats, drinks and breathes basketball. His knowledge about the international game and experience are impressive. We are building a very unique project at London United and Coach Stiller is the right person to take us forward.’
