Carl Campbell commits to Frank Philips College
After spending the past year at The Phelps School, Carl Campbell has decided to continue his education and basketball career by accepting a full scholarship from Division 1 Junior College, Frank Philips College in Texas.
Carl Campbell, 6’8” forward spent the previous four years before enrolling at The Phelps School playing for London United at U16 and U18 level and finishing his education on our full time programme with Alec Reed Academy. Carl had quite substantial interest from various schools in the US, but committed to The Phelps School after being impressed by their facility and attention to the development and individual needs of their students.
After a successful year at The Phelps School, Carl will compete in Division 1 Junior College Basketball with Frank Philips College in Texas.
Frank Philips College Head Coach Chris Hackett was quite excited when he delivered his verdict: “I definitely believe that Carl can became an impact player for us in the very near future. I’m impressed with his size and length and ability on both boards. I’m very excited about Carl coming on board with us.”
Emma Chambers, Director of London United commented ‘We are very happy that after a year at The Phelps School to adjust to the American system Carl will continue his career at a NJCAA Division one institution. I am fully confident that after two year’s of working with Coach Hackett he will be in the position to attract interest from successful NCAA schools.’
